Birthday getaway on K’gari
For my 45th birthday, we headed over to K’gari for a family getaway with Zoe, Letty, Cass and Jamie. We based ourselves at K’gari Beach Resort at Eurong and used the Navara to explore a mix of beach, rainforest and inland lake country across four days.
Day 1 covered the run from Mount Gravatt to Inskip, the crossing at Hook Point and the beach drive to Eurong. After getting settled we headed back out for an afternoon run towards Eli Creek and the Maheno Shipwreck.
Day 2 moved inland to Central Station, the walk to Basin Lake and Lake McKenzie. Day 3 was the big northern run, following the beach north into the Indian Head and Champagne Pools areas before returning to Eurong. On Day 4 we made one last stop at Eli Creek, crossed back to the mainland and returned home to Mount Gravatt.
The complete public route is approximately 948.4 kilometres. The Caboolture stops and detours have been removed from the published geometry while keeping Mount Gravatt as the start and finish of the trip.
