Northern K’gari

Day 3 was the big northern run from Eurong, following the eastern beach north to the headland country around Indian Head and Champagne Pools before working back south to Eurong.

Day 3 report

The northern run

Day 3 was the longest island exploring day of the trip. We left Eurong and headed north along the eastern beach, following the recorded route through the northern section of K’gari.

The day included the headland country around Indian Head and Champagne Pools, with time spent looking out over the coast and stopping along the northern beaches. The photos from the day are mostly about the landscape: headlands, open beach, tidal flats, driftwood and the small details left behind as the water moved out.

From the northern end of the run we worked our way back south and returned to Eurong to finish the day.
