Camping in Cooyar for the rodeo
The Cooyar Hotel Bull & Bronc Ride made a good excuse for a weekend away in a small country town. I headed out in the Kia EV5 while the Navara was getting its water pump changed, packed the swag and set up at Swinging Bridge Park.
Right in the middle of town
The campground put everything close by. There was time to have a look around the swinging bridge, wander through Cooyar and take in the country-town setting before the rodeo.
A real country rodeo
The Bull & Bronc Ride delivered exactly what I was hoping for: a great atmosphere, plenty happening around the arena and a proper country event at the Cooyar Hotel.
Old mates and new ones
The best part of the weekend was catching up with old mates and making new ones. I ran into Ellie Meuwissen, better known as @bikini.angler on Instagram.
It was a simple weekend - the EV5, a swag, a campground in town and a great rodeo - and it was great.
